Our SisterFriend Program does
this by matching community volunteers, "SisterFriends," with a
high-risk pregnant woman or teen to provide her with emotional support.
It is often referred to as the underground railroad of our times. Women
who are "freed" to the point of functioning in our society are going
back and leading other women to "freedom", one on one. Our SisterFriend
Program uses the model from Birthing Project USA.
The Fort
Worth/Dallas Birthing Project's
goal is to help reduce the infant mortality rate in North Texas.
Our mission is to encourage better
birth outcomes for teenagers and women by providing practical support
during pregnancy and for one year after the birth of their children
